Shadow of Tomb Raider Requirements - Can your PC run Tomb Raider Please Support Us And enjoy tonnes of tools and ad free Fallout 4 is a sci-fi 1st or 3rd person open world adventure set around Boston. Nov 24, 2012  I had the issue that Fallout 3 GOTY edition could not even start after hitting 'Play' in the FO3 Launcher. I have a completely new PC with WIN8 pro 64bit, however the issues are neither hardware nor software based. The (probable) reason that the game doesn't run is the lacking coorporation between Steam and the Games For Windows Live (GFWL) application, which is needed to run Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 Requirements For Pc

I had the issue that Fallout 3 GOTY edition could not even start after hitting 'Play' in the FO3 Launcher.I have a completely new PC with WIN8 pro 64bit, however the issues are neither hardware nor software based. The (probable) reason that the game doesn't run is the lacking coorporation between Steam and the Games For Windows Live (GFWL) application, which is needed to run Fallout 3.Solution (with credits to noxwyll):- Install GFWL client (link: ) - now you should be able to continue to the game after hitting 'Play' in the FO3 Launcher- The steam version of FO3 GOTY is 1.5, however there's a up-to-date patch version 1.7 available via GFWL- Hit 'LIVE' in the main menu of the game.

After you logged in into your GFWL account, you should receive the message there's a game update available- Download and install the patch- Close Fallout 3, after the game was automatically restartet (do not start the game again at first!)- Go to the '.steamSteamAppscommonFallout 3 goty' folder- Move the files Fallout3.exe, Fallout3.exe.cat and Fallout3.exe.cfg to a destination of your choice (or simply delete them. If you're not sure, make a backup of these files)- In the same folder are the files Fallout3ng.exe, Fallout3ng.exe.cat and Fallout3ng.exe.cfg - rename them.- Fallout3ng.exe Fallout3.exe- Fallout3ng.exe.cat Fallout3.exe.cat- Fallout3ng.exe.cfg Fallout3.exe.cfg- Start the game- Check, if the patch was installed successfully. If it was not, just update via GFWL.- Enjoy!:)ATTENTION: If you use the steam function to 'verify the integrity of your game cache' the GFWL patch will be overwritten. So take care you don't accidently do so. There is an easier way you know, don't use G4WL!- Download this- Extract it.- Run it.- Click 'Disable G4WL'.- PLAY!Reasons to keep G4WL, cloud based saves and the latest patch which Bethesda claims only adds achievements (it also fixes bugs 'apparently').Reasons to get rid of G4WL, faster loading and so you can actually play it!Does anyone -actually- use G4WL? I don't but I'm curious, if you do, post a comment! You can always download the patch from here if you want it though:ENUK direct link:ENUS direct link:Patch Notes:Update 1.7 Notes (PC)New FeaturesNew achievements for Mothership ZetaUpdate 1.6 Notes (PC and PlayStation 3)New FeaturesNew achievements for Point Lookout (PC)New trophies for Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta (Playstation 3)Support for downloadable content (Playstation 3)Bug FixesOptimized memory with multiple master files (Playstation 3).

You lost your disk? And the dog probably ate your homework too.As several people have already said, the LEGAL version runs without the disk from fallout3.exe.If you have a stolen version (pirate) who knows what you really got. Do you think someone who would steal a game would hesitate to upload a virus with the name as Fallout3? Or upload just a part of the game or some trash file with the name to fulfill some seeding requirement? We not only don't support pirates here, we can't as we don't know what you really have. And, IF you have a pirate version, you don't either. You lost your disk?

He isn't accusing himBut like other people say, just go to you're Fallout 3 folder in Program Files and look for 'Fallout3'.

I popped the disc in and installed it, but i can't seem to get it to run without it, I ran it without it before i uninstalled it and re-installed, if i just run the launcher it pops up box that tells me to put the disc in or go the a website for help. All the website tells me is how too look for the disc.

So yeah same problem as him, just want it to run without for sake of convenience. As has been said many times above - run the fallout3.exe rather than the falloutLauncher.exe. Usually in C:Program Files (x86)Bethesda SoftworksFallout 3.If you're running windows 7 or 8, right-click on your Fallout 3 icon and select Open file location. You might want to create a shortcut for future use. When you have the correct folder open, right-click on fallout3.exe and select Create Shortcut. It might say it can't create a shortcut here, would you like to create one on the desktop - say YES! Otherwise drag the new shortcut to your desktop.
